Combined with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy(NPWT) machines, it helps to contract the wound edges inward, promote granulation tissue growth, and remove exudate (reducing edema) and necrotic tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing.

Primarily used to reduce the bacterial load at the wound site, lower the risk of infection, and avoid the need for secondary debridement
- Silver-sensitivity / allergy — As with any silver-containing dressing, patients with known sensitivity to silver (or components like nylon in contact-layer dressings) should avoid use.
- Specific wound types — Silver-ion release and antimicrobial activity often rely on wound exudate (moisture) — very dry wounds may not trigger optimal silver-ion activity.
- Not suitable for the following wound types — Third-degree burns, very dry wounds (where the silver-impregnated foam function cannot be activated).
- For infected wounds or high-infection-risk wounds — Consider silver foam, possibly in combination with PU (for drainage) or PVA white foam (for tissue protection), depending on wound geometry and exudate.
