Negative Pressure Wound Therapy(NPWT)Silver Ion Foam Dressing Kit

Silver Ion Foam with sustained antibacterial effect

Applicability to many wound types

All necessary Wound care products

All kinds of foam sizes

With a smart negative pressure pump

Sustained & broad-spectrum antibacterial effect (reduces the risk of infection)

Clinical/in vitro data indicate that silver’s antimicrobial activity can last for 3-21 days;

PROMED silver foam dressings can be used continuously for several days. They can reduce the growth of aerobic, Gram-positive, Gram-negative, drug-resistant, and fungal bacteria, with effects usually visible within 24 hours of application.

Promote wound healing

Antibacterial silver ion foam provides a cleaner environment for wounds.  Combined with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy(NPWT) machines, it helps to contract the wound edges inward, promote granulation tissue growth, and remove exudate (reducing edema) and necrotic tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing.

Alleviate patient discomfort

The antibacterial properties of silver and the characteristics of the foam allow the dressing to remain on the wound for a longer period, reducing the frequency of dressing changes and minimizing patient discomfort.

Promoting wound healing

By improving healing efficiency through external mechanical force (medical negative pressure suction therapy) and a cleaner wound environment (antibacterial silver ions).

Reduced costs

Compared to ordinary foam dressings, the antibacterial properties of silver ions reduce bacterial growth around the wound and lower the risk of infection. This allows for longer contact with the wound, reducing the frequency of dressing changes, and it significantly reduces nursing costs.

NPWT Silver Ion Foam Dressing Kits

PROMED offers silver ion foam dressing kits in various specifications, covering a wide range of wound types to provide you with the best solution.

Silver Ion Foam Dressing Kits

Primarily used to reduce the bacterial load at the wound site, lower the risk of infection, and avoid the need for secondary debridement

Considerations / Limitations
  1. Silver-sensitivity / allergy — As with any silver-containing dressing, patients with known sensitivity to silver (or components like nylon in contact-layer dressings) should avoid use.
  2. Specific wound types — Silver-ion release and antimicrobial activity often rely on wound exudate (moisture) — very dry wounds may not trigger optimal silver-ion activity.
  3. Not suitable for the following wound types — Third-degree burns, very dry wounds (where the silver-impregnated foam function cannot be activated).
  4. For infected wounds or high-infection-risk wounds — Consider silver foam, possibly in combination with PU (for drainage) or PVA white foam (for tissue protection), depending on wound geometry and exudate.
