NPWT with Instillation

NPWT with Instillation

Why NPWT alone is not always enough?

what are the means of NPWT with instillation?

Challenges with NPWT:

  • Wounds are difficult to cleanse at the time of dressing change
  • Wound environments are often polymorphic
  • Wounds are often suboptimal when you initiate NPWT
  • Wounds may be highly colonized despite their appearance
  • Removing foam from the wound may be painful
  • Wounds can stall during the healing process

Benefits of  NPWT with Instillation

  • The wound is cleansed of slough and debris
  • Reduction of bioburden
  • Reduced pain at dressing change
  • Moisture balance in the wound bed

Wounds that benefit from NPWT with instillation

  • Contaminated wounds
  • Diabetic wounds
  • Acute and chronically infected wounds
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Pressure ulcers
  •  Infected wounds in the presence of orthopedic hardware or joint implants

Negative pressure Drainage Therapy

Continuous negative pressure (Mode A)

  • Continuously removal of exudates (recommended for the first 48h of all wounds, and for wounds with massive exudates)

Intermittent negative pressure (Mode B)

  • Results in more formation of granulation tissue and faster wound healing compared to continuous mode.(particularly useful after detersion )

Dynamic pressure control (Mode C)

  • Maintains adaptive pressure on the wound site.

Less pain during therapy and dressing changes

Cleaning Drainage Therapy (NPWT with instillation)

Manual Clean (Mode D)

Flow rate at 3 levels: low/medium/high;          Soaking time: 1s-30min selectable;

Operating time: 1-720min selectable

Auto Cleaning, Cleaning first (Mode E)

Flow rate at 3 levels: low/medium/high;          Soaking time: 1s-30min selectable;

Operating time: 10min-720min selectable;      Cleaning volume: 6ml-500ml selectable

Auto Cleaning, Drainage first (Mode F)

Flow rate at 3 levels: low/medium/high;          Soaking time: 1s-30min selectable;

Operating time: 10min-720min selectable;      Cleaning volume: 6ml-500ml selectable
